Hello everybody, I'm new here, but I have quite a bit of ideas.
I've already looked at the screenshots that are at the bottom of the forum, and they look so cool.
Anyway, my ideas:

Too bad, you're on 'a crappy mac laptop', but you can still help! Your ideas are always welcome and you could test the mod and the scripts on a mac if you want to.
The idea of a Khaak corvette never came into my mind. Nice idea! But I'm not sure about the weapons: 4x Gamma Kyon Main, 3x Gamma Kyon Back. This is tough... too taugh?
And the UFO should use other weapons besides the Alpha Kyon Emitter - they are hard to acquire.
And I like the idea of a Super Kyon Emitter and a Xenon Super weapon.
We haven't discussed the existence of M0 for the other races. We haven't even thought about it. But afaik docking of a M6 is not possible.

Sure, sign me up for official mod tester! I'd love to.
Maybe for the Kha'ak Corvette, it should only have Gamma Kyons on the main mount, and Betas on the other turrets? That seems like it's a tad more reasonable. And I have a picture of the Kha'ak Corvette in X3, I just have to search through Egosoft to find it.
Are there any custom weapons in Pandora? Because I imagine the UFO to have some nice beam weapons for it's defenses.
I'll keep coming up with new ship ideas.

Right now, there are no custom weapons except changed bullets for some standard weapons. But I'd like to have some - which means we need factories for new weapons and a rework of the cockpit definitions. That's why every new weapon means a lot of work. But as I said before, I like the idea of special weapons for the Khaak M0 and Xenon M0.
Well, I never liked the Khaak design in X3 except one sphere like. But as you can see by the gallery, the Khaak get an insect-like look. I want to finish the design of the small ships and adjust the M1/M2 to the insect-like look. The corvette as I think of it fills the gap between the two design patterns.
Regarding the testing: first we have to translate the texts used (except you know german :) ). BTW, do you know the name of the file with the spoken texts?

Ummm, well, I don't really know German. I mean, my mom knows a bit, but I don't think she'd like to translate everything for me!
And what file are you speaking of?
I might be able to find it if I could know the specs of it.

The spoken texts are all in a file in the X2-directory\mov. The file in the german version is '00149.dat'.
The reason I am asking is the following: I use samples from sentences the bord computer speaks and combine them in different order. This way I get names for the new ship that are spoken by the bord computer. If I target a ship, the computer actually speaks it's name. Maybe a similar thing can be done in every language. Maybe I will ask in the English Ego-Forum, because I need to download this file somewhere.

Well, there are 16 files, and the one that's closest to the one for the German one is 00144.ogg, which I don't think helps you.

Well, I think this is the file I'm looking for. '49' is the id for German text, '44' for English. The *.dat extension is misleading, it's just a *.wma sound file with the extension *.dat. *ogg is the extension for Ogg-Vorbis sound format. It seems this is the file I'm looking for. Can you upload it somewhere for me to download?

I think email won't work. The 00149.dat is 123 MB, and 00144.ogg should be of a similar size (if not, it's the wrong file anyway). I'm pretty sure my inbox won't accept a file that big.
If uploading doesn't work - no great deal, I ask for the file in the English forum.

Wow, looks really cool. But I don't know if this works in X2. The weapon seems to be a rocket, judging by the trail. I don't know much about X3-Modding, so I can only guess.
I think making a weapon like this is really difficult in X2. This will last a little time until we know if it's possible.

It's not a real Rocket. It's just like IRE or any other standard weapon. It is just modelled to look like a rocket. (Xtended Mod)

Yeah, the guy who put the video up said that he was messing around with the PPC stuff and he got that effect.

Are you guys going to have bridge crew in this mod, like Harlock is in Top Gun 3.0?

probably going to be one of the only reasons that I'll use his mod, is
I want his new ships, and the bridge crew would be cool.
Edit 1: Okay, this morning I got yet another idea for the mod, and I'm going to run it by Harlock when I get home from school.
One more ship, the Player Headquarters.
It's essentially a massive ship that is designed to look like a station (maybe like the actual player HQ in X3 , or something).
This could be it's stats:
Player Headquarters
Race: Player
Class: Headquarters, M0
Speed: 0 m/s
Freight Capacity: 1,000,000 XL sized containers
Hull: 5,000,000 Mass Units
Steering: 0%
Acceleration: 0 m/s
Shielding: Either 20x125 or (if there'd be a new shield slot primarily for stations, or something), 10x1,000 MW
Docking:
500 Ships (M3, M4, M5, TS, TP, but there would be 'parking spaces' for
a larger M6 or smaller M2 or M1 in it's HUGE hangar bay, and there
would be several extensions on the top of the ship that you could
'park' your larger capital ships).
Weapons: None
Turrets: 6;
(They'd be offices or lounges, something like this) Officer Lounge, Station Control Center, A view of the hangar bay, another lounge, ect. The main cockpit (when you dock with the HQ) would be a scene similar to Elena Kho's office in the Terracorp HQ.
Missiles: Mosquito (only because that's the default, right?)
What do you think? Would it be stupid? Or would you like it?
I think it would be good for someone who prefers trading instead of fighting, as you could use it as a storage place too, as it has HUGE cargo room, and it could be your base of operations.

Well, bridge crews. Really cool stuff. I'm looking forward to Top Gun Mod V3.0. We haven't discussed this, but I'm not into it for 3 reasons:
1. My moddeling capabilies just aren't good enough, I think.
2. It's Harlock's idea, and he's the one who should do it. It's the outstanding feature of Top Gun Mod, a feature never seen before.
3. X2 has some limitations, especially when it comes to texturing. I don't know for sure right now, but I believe to create good looking bridge crews new textures are needed. X2-Pandora uses a lot of new textures, there's simply no place. I don't know if this is really a problem, maybe using the old textures is enough.
I won't do any bridge crew, but maybe one of the other modders around here :?:

If this is approved, then the Player HQ will be an Argon Shipyard (or similar station), no new model. It all still needs a little more analysis and some trials before the final decision. But I want to have such a thing - and where's a will, there's a way. :D

I didn't mean that capital ships could dock there, I meant that it would have such a huge docking bay that you could just fly your M6 into the hangar, park it there, dock into a M5, then dock at the ship. I didn't mean that you could dock a M6 at the station.
And why does the HQ have to be a station? I mean, it doesn't really have to dock a capital ship, does it?
And also, I meant that it could have the size and shape of the Player Headquarters, but with X2 graphics and everything.
And about the crew, they'd just be a part of the background.

You're right, the Player HQ can be a ship. I was thinking of a station because the mod needs one. But the station I'm thinking of and a Player HQ needn't be the same.
But why should it be a ship? The only advantages I see is the capability of a ship to carry weapons (and that the number of ships docking can be restricted) - and of course to make an office instead of a bridge.
Yeah, the X3 Player HQ looks cool. I once managed to get in X2 (I mean the original model retextured), but the station just uses too many polygons. So if we decide to make an Player HQ, we need to remodel it.
I think a Player HQ should have special capabilities. Any ideas?

maybe there could be like a buy/sell locater, but you could search the entire universe and get a message from the program?
It tells you if a station is no longer in black numbers?

Well i saw your idea called "Cerberus", haven't you watch a little the XTM Mod, because that's the name of the Argon M7 :whistling:
