I was looking through off topic and noticed threads such as 'funny things from the internet' and 'the music thread' and decided there should be an off topic thread in off topic.

This is pretty much a thread for me and other people to dump random thoughts, ideas, and/or questions. Ignore it if you want, but-- i can't think of a reason not to ignore it :D

(This is really a thread for me to rant in)

Okay, first question:

I can get this free and legit, off a friend who's upgrading after about a month of using it, solely because he thinks it's outdated (yeah right)

http://www.nvidia.com/object/product_geforce_9800_gtx_us.html

Should I?

(ps I want it mainly for the game mentioned on the page, which i bought on sale :D)

i get x2 and x3(demo) on full perfectly with extra nvidia options (ie 8xAA) my friends upgrading to two ATI Radeon 4870 1GBs with an e8400 cpu. This is why i get his 'old' stuff :D

Hope you got the vid card. I used to run a pair of those a while back, and they rock. Especially the newer 55nm versions. They have rebranded them as the 250 series. Same card, new moniker.

I use EVGA brand. They give a lifetime warranty, have wonderful customer service and a great user community. I run superclocked 260's in SLI now. I get 213 fps average in the X2 benchmark with all settings to max and eye candy on. including AA and such.
