Ausrufezeichen 2014 - work in progress

In 2014 our work continues.

Within short period coming up:

-more trailer

-playable demo
(cuase of limitations of the demo engine: not all features icluded) Nevertheless an opportunity to take look at the mods universe.

still wanted:

-moddeler
-scripter
-speaker
-people able to translate from German

The X2P team wishes you a happy new year.

Oh yes. It's going on.
Now we have a feature freeze, so the're coming no new features and we can make the open ones ready.

That is some point of discussion.

I still think of the mod as an alpha version, even though it is playable, because you still permanently need to restart with every new feature implemented. That's why a feature freeze is so important.

And a lot has to be done yet: ship balancing, fixing the economy and so on...

you may release an beta version since it may have bugs and so on at least for a start i guess

i didnt install my game yet,im hardly looking this something new comes out and test it out with patch 1.5 + the bonus material from the official website

P.S,i was wondering if the mod will work fine with the cheat pack,if you know what i mean,spawning every ship with its equipment,changing cash and such

Oh there is no need for cheating. The plots are interesting and if you don't do bad you get the one or other reward. Further it's part of the fun to earn the things there are, right

wellll.sry if im mentioning other mod called P.X.D,that mod died...it worked fine,both with vanilla game and the P.X.D mod about the cheat pack from the official website,so i guess it will work fine with this one as well

Well, the mod should work with any well written scripts. I don't know about the cheat pack, because I've never used it. (As soon as I learned scripting, I made my own "cheat" scripts for testing purposes.)

However, these scripts will most likely not fully support X2Pandora, and may cause incompatibilities. For example, the bonus scripts work mostly well, with the exception of two script packages (RacePatrol scripts and Universe Trader). In case of RacePatrol it is due to the use of one of two script commands that are no longer supported by the mod: if it's possible for a big ship to dock at a station. This command can't be used in X2Pandora, because the vanilla X2 version is too simple - vanilla version works for every big ship type, but in Pandora there is a replacement version of this script command that needs to know exactly what big ship type it is. (Also, this script packages only used vanilla ship types in a hardcoded way.
And the Universe Trader uses a gateless jumpdrive, which led to much discussion in X2 forums. And this is also not applicable in Pandora, because jump drive is totally rewritten and has many options. Thus, universe trader ships behave the same way any other ship does.
In short: we've reworked the bonus scripts if the need arouse and X2Pandora comes with its own versions of the bonus scripts to be compatible and consistent.

When using other scripts, similar issues may occur - they may work well, they may not work at all, or they may work, but break immersion.
