Default PLENTY more evil ships

Okay, I have an idea: the X-Universe needs WAY more evil race ships added.

For example, I think we should make the Xenon TS and TL an actual ship, and I think there should be a Xenon M6, too.
Also, I think that the Pirates should have at least a M6 ship, if not a light M1 or M2 (like the Durango in Harlock's Top Gun Mod), powerful enough to do just enough damage, but not quite powerful enough to be able to destroy entire stations (maybe give it 4x125 MW shields of something, so it'd be more like a frigate than a carrier of destroyer).

I'll come up with the specs a little later.

Are you meaning that pirates and "evil races" don't have enough ships or that they're not evil enough? I interpret your post as saying that you think there're too many friendlies in the X-universe. If so, I steadfastly agree. The worst thing I can imagine is a peacefull universe where the only fun had is how much money you can fit in your bank. Fun for me is making my way up in a hostile environment, and even when I get high and mighty, to still get my face thrown in the mud by something bigger. Don't know why, but that's just me. I live for the journey.

Don't worry. Pandora features a few scripts that will redefine "Hostile Enviroment" (atleast compared to Vanilla X2)

AFAIK, SWAHIL!!! meant that they don't have enough ship types. But some of us were missing the dangerous Pirates and the very dangerous Xenon from earlier X games. The Khaak are evil in vanilla X2, Pirates and Xenon are not. This will change - and hostile action causes hostile action!

An important point of X2 is that you can do this if you want to. Pandora is made by different people playing X2 differently. One of the aims of Pandora is to boost every aspect: TRADE - FIGHT - BUILD - THINK. If you look around, you will find many additions to game. The emphasis is on trading or fighting, and often this is made in such a way that it's easier for the player.
I personally favour the think-factor. But I do also love a little action. We're working on some stuff that brings a think factor to fighting. The universe can be a very dangerous place - if you want to! That's another important point: you can configure Pandora to be more or less dangerous to you.

Trading or Fighting or Thinking or Building. Ok, I can accept that, kind of. But you should benefit by combining all of them. I'm not sure if I'm understanding your post, but it you make it sound like it's exclusive.

Take for instance trading. If you stayed in peacefull sectors, that are well secured, there's a good chance most of the sectors will be well supplied and you'll thusly have a reduced profit by playing it safe. You might benefit by expanding your enterprise to include distant trade-routes that cross through hostile territory. You'd do this because the distant sectors are in grave need of resources and pay well for your work, but since they're infested with pirates/strife/insecurity, you're inclined to improve your "fight" skills. In this case, you might better arm your traders (or they may demand it). You may also give them escorts or send patrols along the trade run to keep it clear. This should give you better profits, if you keep your "fight" skills polished.

It's just like "build". Any fighter or trader would benefit from building a station - that's increased income. Makes sense for anyone, good or bad. Or "think". Well, thinking isn't bad as long as you do something with it. Combining those things should yield a character with greater influence.

I remember when I first bought privateer in the 90's. One of hte things I rmember most of all was constant pirate activity, especially in outlying regions. When I met a pirate they'd virtually always attack me. It's not like in x2 where I bump into a pirate and for the most part, they leave me alone. I think pirates should be badass and shouldn't be so polite and law-abiding. And why do I even see them in argon prime? They shouldn't even be there, that'd be like finding bin laden in a shopping mall in new york. Maybe i haven't played long enough, but I'd expect them to get into a fight fast jumping into a highly-policed zone. Most of the pirate ships I've bumped into would wipe the floor with me (shields/hull are souped up), but if all they're gonna do is smoke weed and <expletive> in a policed zone, they should be shipped back to their pirate base and given a makeover.

Pirate behaviour will be different than in Vanilla X2. I won't go into detail, because many of our plans are still plans and it has to be proven they all work.
Pirates will still trade with Space Weed and Space Fuel. Occasionally a pirate transporter might travel through Argon Prime to get Space Fuel. But you may need to take a closer look to spot them. They will try to avoid any attention.
But Pirate owned and bordering sectors will become a dangerous place. Poor inhabitants of these stations owned by other races in Pirate sectors....

No!!@$ It's ok to say that, IMHO. Pirates need a bit of help anyway.

I'm not sure I agree with them having to travel through policed zones, however. Unless they're looking for a fight, I fail to see why they'd travel through enemy zones (even if they're trying not to be seen). Perhaps the problem is that pirate ships are so easily identified. You'd think that the pilotes would have better countermeasures. For instance, their ship might give a false signal or identity. That's what smugglers and others like them do, they cheat the system. They don't become rich by publicly pronouncing that they're cheap criminal child killers. For the same reason, I'd expect some pirates to look just like any other ship, even with computer assisted identification. Especially, the pirate traders/smugglers. They should look like they're friendlies, most of thee time, depending on various factors. For example, the pirates might have excellent countermeasures against standard policing identification systems, but if you have a special-purposes ID system, you might be able to correctly identify them. Besides, no policed sector is going to trade with a pirate!!! (I hope to god that they're not trading with argon prime!!) Maybe I'll start it up and find out where these pirate traders are actually going to buy their goods. I swear to god I'll scream if they're trading in argon prime.
