Well, I think super gates would be a cool feature, especially if we'll decide to get rid of the jump drive and create a cool new gate.... BTW, does anybody know if there's a limitation in TGates?

The number of possible gates in the Game? Afaik yes, there is a limit (but I don't know what the limit is)

I do not mean "in a sector". There is a limit of 6 gates afaik. I speak about different models in TGates. There are 5 different gates in vanilla game: North, South, West, East Gate and a "Xenon Gate" (the destroyed gates). It's possible to add a sixth gate. But if we use super gate (and if we follow Dagobert's proposal of a wormhole-like gate), we need a total of 10 Gates.

Well, I was a little rash. I checked it out, and 10 gates in TGates work. But we'd need (up to now) at the most only 2 more gates: the wormhole and one supergate model. This is because adding new games has some backdrafts: they all get marked like the broken gates with this square with 4 dots inside, and their name will be prefixed with 3 question marks. I named the new gate (for testing purposes) 'Nikkonofune' and gave it an ID-Code of 'CG'. It showed up on the galaxy map with this square, with the name '??? Nikkonofune' and an ID code 'CGGA-02'.

maybe there could be supergates placed in only the major sectors (ie, home sectors) and they all go to an empty sector, maybe the background that has absolutely nothing, and a single star in the center, that is just a light (the star are really small up close, but you know that already) and all the gates sitting in the outskirts?

Doesn't sound bad. Mmh, it seems there are already super gates on vanilla universe map: the gates leading from Family Whi to Shareholder's Fortune (Aktionärsgewinn), and the gates between Interworlds (Zwei Welten) and Sacred Relic .

are they supergates? i thought that there was trillions of light years between most of the sectors anyway, and if you view a map of the x3 universe, it explains something about 'the void', a hole in the jumpgates, I'd upload the link, but i can't find it, it's somewhere in the English creative universe on Ego's forum

I think they are supergates - The distance between Sacred Relic and Interworlds is about 5 times longer than the usual distance between two sectors.
Maybe we could replace the gates in Interworlds and Sacred Relic with our supergates?

That is exactly what I was thinking of. If you look at the map, the distance seems so much different than all other gates, that's why these must be "super gates". BTW: "Super Gate" is not really a good name, I think. Any ideas how to call them? Hypergate? Maybe get inspired by Astrophysics? Something with strings?

Artifical wormhole? if it goes to a sector similar to the one that i described before, it could be called an interdimensional gate, leading to an artificial sector?
